Veterinary Technician Job at Stony Plain Veterinary Clinic
We are looking for a conscientious and diligent Veterinary Technician who has experience working with dogs, cats and exotics. The ideal candidate will be a people-person who is comfortable working with both people and animals, is capable of performing routine medical care on animals, and is interested in an exciting position with unlimited potential for growth.
We have 3 full time RVT's and 4 Veterinarians. Our Veterinarians interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, echocardiograms, abdominal ultrasounds, naturopathic medicine, exotics, reproduction and beyond. We accept emergency cases during operating hours.
We are open Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an average work week of 40 hours. We offer great wages, benefits, vacation, sick days, CE hours, staff discounts, and subsidized gym membership.
Responsibilities:
- Provide veterinary care for sick or injured animals.
- Provide assistance in performing surgery and other medical procedures.
- Handle animals with care and respect.
- Keep accurate medical records of each animal's health status.
- Monitor the condition of patients that are staying at the clinic.
- Filling prescriptions.
- Diagnostic imaging and testing.
- Client education and interaction including admissions and discharges.
