Background

SilviaFindings, Canada is the main supplier of jewellery findings and gemstone settings/mounts located in Richmond BC. We sell our high quality sterling silver and gold products to jewellery artisans – wholesale and retail. We also offer a complete range of custom-made jewellery services, including 3D scanning, 3D design, 3D printing, mold making, casting, and stone setting. We exhibit and sell our products at trade shows as well as online through our company websites www.silviafindings.com and www.custommadejewellery.ca, and social media platforms.

At SilviaFindings, we attribute much of our success to the strength of our sales, customer service, and marketing activities. Trade shows are a crucial part of these activities because they allow us to showcase our products and services, spread our knowledge and experience, and engage with customers about the jewellery industry trends. Success at trade shows hinges on well-versed booth staff and the way they interact with prospective or existing customers.

We are looking at building a Trade Show Team to participate at weekend trade shows in Eastern Canada. We currently participate in the following gem shows in the East: Ottawa, Montreal, London, Ancaster, Bancroft. We might replace some of these shows from time to time or add more shows, depending on the market situation or our show schedule.

The trade show team concept is as follows:

  • Create and manage a group of one or two persons to assist at trade shows.
  • Participate in the shows we have applied for (usually on the weekends).
  • Start show preparation/setup on Thursdays for shows scheduled on Fridays to Sundays.
  • Remuneration is on commission, based on the net sales amount, covering all expenses except the show booth rental costs.

Main Tasks

  • Participate in and travel to various trade shows in the Eastern Canada regions.
  • Know and understand the products and services we offer and how to sell them.
  • Be trustworthy, reliable, and punctual. Build trust with prospects/visitors.
  • Act as company brand ambassador
  • Hand out a vendor card to other exhibitors at the show who sell gemstones cut for jewellery settings. Explain our products and services to them to reach common success.
  • Sell our products and get orders from customers. Offer our stone-setting service at the set company’s rate.
  • Introduce our custom-made services for customers’ special needs.
  • Collect market information, product information, customer requirements, and new fashion trend, then feedback to the office.
  • Report the sold-out items to the office for refilling the stock.
  • Update the POS system after the show closure each day.
  • Send customers’ orders (regular and custom-made items) to the office for follow-up.
  • Safe keep all sales receipts. Deposit cash in the company’s bank account on the next day of the show closure (usually Mondays). Reconcile sales with the office.
  • Keep the inventory safe and deliver them to the next show.
  • Set upup and take down the booth.

Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking individuals that have the following skills, competencies, and knowledge necessary for participating and representing SilviaFindings, Canada at trade shows.

The candidate must:

  • Be reliable and trustworthy, nor have a bad record.
  • Bear hardships and stand hard work.
  • Demonstrate good decision making and sound judgment.
  • Have superior organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and initiative.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Be approachable and people friendly.
  • Be able to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Have an interest in or familiarity with jewellery, proven sales experience in a similar industry.
  • Be willing to work weekends and love to travel.
  • Communicate effectively and enthusiastically. Exercise good listening skills.
  • Have experience in show processes, including booth setup, organizing and managing the show booth, and tearing down the booth. Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be a team player and self-starter.
  • Be able to work independently under minimal supervision, self-manage, self-restraint.
  • Have a secured vehicle to transport and deliver the samples and inventory to the shows.
  • Have a clean-cut appearance.

Two reference letters are required.
