What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
  • work with Children, Youth and Social Services Information and Information Technology Cluster operational and development teams towards dev-ops automation & cloud technologies enablement
  • work with Cluster Windows support operational teams to provide support for Cluster Windows & .NET based applications
  • provide information technology operations support including systems operations, troubleshooting, tracking, and analyzing performance
  • perform a variety of advanced programming, systems analysis, systems development, and related technical support
  • conduct systems analysis for the development, implementation, support and maintenance of a diverse range of cost-effective information technology solutions and services
  • provide technical advice to clients and leverage information technology solutions and applications to meet organization service goals and objectives


How do I qualify?

Technical Skills:

  • You have knowledge of principles, best practices, trends and issues in contemporary I&IT technical solutions related to business solutions design, development and sustainment, to provide expertise for client solutions and decision-making.
  • You have advanced knowledge of OS systems, Windows and UNIX and newest IT technologies towards DEV-OPS, and vendors' new cloud services.


Technical Knowledge:

  • You have demonstrated skills in, and knowledge of, information technology systems, development, integration and implementation of software systems and tools.
  • You have knowledge of systems analysis, design, development, and testing, and knowledge of emerging technologies, data applications, programming concepts and languages, networking, security and Internet technologies.
  • You have knowledge to lead the identification and evaluation of information technology options for design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of system solutions.
  • You have knowledge of government information technology policies, guidelines, directives and standards.


Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • You have strong verbal communication skills to provide end-user support services and one-on-one and group training, as needed, consult and communicate with managers and end-users, and to communicate complex technical issues in plain language
  • You have strong written communication skills to communicate clearly by e-mail with managers, end-users, vendors and other contacts, prepare systems and procedures documentation, explain analyses/recommendations, and communicate and explain complex technical issues.
  • You have interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships.


Organizational and Project Management Knowledge and Skills:

  • You have effective organizational skills to plan and organize activities in a high-volume environment with changing priorities.
  • You have project and time management skills to ensure planning and execution in time of tasks.
  • You have knowledge of project planning and management methodology and processes in order to coordinate/lead projects.
