POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the President, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for efficiently overseeing all functions of the supply chain system at Iron Will Raw (IWR), including procurement, supplier/vendor relations and performance, inventory, production, logistics and distribution. Key to this role is effectively forecasting demand, creating accurate supply plans, and consistently satisfying resource requirements.

The Supply Chain Manager must direct and manage the performance of warehouse staff and key logistics roles, as well as employee recruitment, selection, training and health and safety initiatives. Consistent coordination and correspondence with both internal and external stakeholders (i.e. department managers, vendors, sales/finance, suppliers, customers etc.) is imperative for supply chain optimization and cost savings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Systems Management

· Create and implement a supply chain strategy that is aligned with business objectives and increases the efficiency and speed of supply operations

· Adapt supply chain and logistics strategies to accommodate changing market conditions, cost reduction initiatives and new business opportunities.

· Develop and implement policies, practices and procedures that govern and guide the work of all supply chain functions

Employee Management

· Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of warehouse staff and effectively manage performance.

· Engage in recruitment, selection, onboarding and training initiatives.

· Develop and implement safety guidelines in all areas of the supply chain.

Forecasting, Demand Planning & Risk Management

· Create comprehensive and informed forecasts (demand, supply, pricing) by strategically assessing various logistics factors

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gain insight about predicted demand and create supply plans that ensure availability of products.

· Effectively identify risks and develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions.

Purchasing & Procurement

· Plan, manage and execute all activities related to strategic procurement and tactical purchasing.

· Define and utilize procurement metrics (KPIs) to successfully measure, compare, benchmark, regulate and optimize various supply chain factors (i.e. costs, quality, quantity, delivery time etc.).

· Actively and strategically source, evaluate and select suppliers based on procurement KPIs

· Engage in competitive bidding, supplier negotiations and contract development/finalization, ensuring all activities are conducted ethically and comply with organizational policies and applicable legislation.

· Effectively manage supplier relationships and consistently evaluate supplier risks and performance.

· Monitor costs and stay within allocated budgets.

Logistics Management

· Develop systems to accurately manage and track supplier and product data in the ERP system.

· Take initiative in identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in the supply chain.

· Coordinate with the QA Manager to develop and maintain a sufficient pool of approved suppliers with the required Quality Assurance programs and standards.

· Drive cost reduction strategies while maintaining order accuracy, quality and distribution standards.

· Optimize warehouse functions and streamline supply chain operations and logistical procedures.

Inventory Management

· Oversee inventory management processes to ensure adequate stocking levels for immediate production needs as well as future order requirements (i.e. inventory turns and values)

· Develop and implement inventory controls that support a cost-effective flow of inputs and outputs and successfully meet product demands, order/customer requirements and scheduled delivery dates.

QUALIFICATIONS

· At five (5) years’ experience working as a supply chain manager, or in a similar leadership role, required.

· Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Commerce or a related field, required.

· Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, preferred.

· Advanced knowledge and understanding of supply chain processes and logistics.

KEY CANDIDATE COMPETENCIES

· Exceptional math and logistics skills; systems thinking.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills; pproficiency in English.

· Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. employees, suppliers, customers, etc.)

· Ability to effectively lead a team of employees, motivate desired behaviours and manage performance.

· Excellent planning, organization and time management skills; competent in prioritizing work activities.

· Advanced computer literacy skills; proficient with MS Suite (i.e. Excel); familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software (i.e. Quikbooks)

· Ability to have foresight, analytically problem-solve, and take initiative using sound judgement.

· Thorough understanding of company products and commitment to IWR’s values.

· Capacity to understand the consequence of errors with regard supply chain inefficiencies / disruptions.
