The Supervisor of Support and Development is responsible for the management of the Grand Erie District School Board’s Support and Development staff, including Helpdesk, Software Development and the Student Information System teams. Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology Services, the Supervisor will develop, maintain and improve support processes as well as manage, and actively participate in, the software development team. The Supervisor of Support and Development will work directly and cooperatively with the Supervisor of IT Infrastructure to foster a cooperative and interactive working environment across all divisions of Information Technology Services at the Board.

EDUCATION:
  • Minimum community college diploma or university degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science or related field is required
  • Additional certification in project management is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of 5 years previous experience in a similar role is required
  • Helpdesk management with a focus on customer service and performance monitoring and reporting is preferred
  • Student Information System Management and Ministry of Education OnSIS reporting requirements knowledge and experience is an asset
  • Software development team leadership and/or management role including supervision of the design, development, implementation and support hand-off processes is required
  • Strong mentoring, leadership and interpersonal skills and experience, goal and target setting, training and professional development planning, and conflict management and resolution is a requirement
  • Project management experience including working closely with vendors and consultants, product evaluation and selection processes, project planning and implementation, change control, training, support and documentation is preferred
  • General technical knowledge of any of the following platforms is an asset: Windows Server, Active Directory, SQL Server, PowerSchool, Office 365
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and/or COBIT an asset

Hours of Work
7 hours per day / 35 hours per week; 12 months per year

Rate of Pay/Benefits
$84,225 to $95,710 (pending review).
