Key Accountabilities

  • Acting as a front-line guest service liaison, answering questions, assisting with orientation of games and the facility; working to create a positive gaming experience for all our guests
  • Providing prompt, courteous service to ensure guests have an enjoyable gaming experience
  • Signing jackpots and cancelled credits, clearing bill and ticket jams and checking game and voucher histories to maintain game integrity. answering questions and solving disputes
  • Greet all guests and offer information regarding the facility, events and promotions
  • Working in compliance with internal controls, company policies and procedures and/or BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) policies and procedures; report any violations and escalate to the appropriate level as necessary
  • Acquiring and maintaining a strong knowledge of all Slot operations policies and procedures
  • Participate in a professional, constructive and supportive environment for all casino staff, with attention to open communication and team concept
  • Performing other duties as required

Education and Qualifications

  • Experience in a guest facing role
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of yourself and others when communicating with team members and guests and excellent multi-tasking skills
  • A positive attitude, and the flexibility to perform duties at the highest level in a constantly changing, exciting and evolving machine gaming business.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and leadership skills
  • Manual dexterity, technical aptitude and trouble shooting ability is an asset. Basic knowledge of slot machine functions is an asset. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ready and willing to work a flexible schedule including graveyards and weekends based on slot operational needs
  • Serving It Right, or the ability to obtain a Serving it Right Certification
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular casino environment, standing for long periods of time, some exposure to noise, non-traditional work hours
