Key Responsibilities: Connecting with residents and providing them with quality and superior meal service, the Server supports a balanced and enjoyable meal experience for all residents. Servers are to follow standardized job routines for effective and efficient meal time prep, service standards and clean up. Servers are required to bring exceptional customer service and a positive experience every time the residents join us for a meal.

As a positive and active contributor, your key duties will include:

• Supports meal service from start to finish, set up of dining room, taking orders, and delivering meals to residents in a timely and organized fashion
• Prepares some food items for serving to residents
• Ensures resident satisfaction with meal service
• Responds to resident or family member concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or brings to the attention of the Food Services Manager
• Performs the set-up, serving and tear down services at booked catering events
• Effectively communicates and interacts with residents, family members, visitors and volunteers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Projects an appropriate image and focuses on customer service excellence

The ideal candidates will possess:

• Previous food services experience in a retirement residence, long term care residence or other hospitality environment is an asset
• Reliable, organized and possessed good time management
• Food Safe Level 1 Certificate is an asset
• Smart Serve Certificate is an asset
• First Aid Certificate is an asset
• Ability or read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English
• Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
• Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
• Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors

Working Conditions include

• Ability to exert equivalent of lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50lbs between 25%-50% of the shift
• Minimal concentration required
• Required to switch tasks occasional and endure interruptions between 25%-50% of the day
• Ability to endure long periods on one’s feet throughout the shift
• Ability to organize work and work under strict time constraints

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 16-20 per week

Salary: $16.56-$18.42 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• On call
• Weekend availability
