Server/Bartender

Island Spice Flava Bar and Grill is opening our second location and are looking for a server/cashier to join our team!! We have been around for 20 years specializing in fine Carribbean foods and are excited to be opening a second location to serve a wider variety of clientele. This location will be sports bar oriented and will continue with our established brand name and exceptional service in this fast-pasted restaurant. We offer competitive wages and room to excel in an exemplary restaurant team. Responsibilities:

· Creating a memorable dining experience and maintain dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude

· Providing information about food and beverages as well as other restaurant functions and services

· Monitors cleanliness and makes sure all material and areas are safe and free from clutter

· Setting up tables as well as serving food and beverages

· Keeping kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression

· Obtaining revenue by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments and delivering bills, as well as returning change and dealing with credit card signature slips

Skills and Requirements

· Thrive in a fast paced family friendly environment

· At least 2 years experience

· Proficient in English communication

· Quick, efficient and punctual

· Must be able to work independently

· Clean and tidy appearance

· Smart Serve certified

· Food Handling certificate

· Friendly, quick, conscientious, consistent

· Must be able to be quick with counting money

· Assist with utensil washing from time to time

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• EAST YORK, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• serving: 1 year (preferred)
• Bartending: 1 year (preferred)
