Job Description

Senior Software Engineer

SimFront is seeking an expert software engineer for military simulation systems. If you enjoy “breadth and depth” challenges in your work – where one moment you are creating database structures, and the next you are delving into the intricacies of UX, then the “grow your career as the company grows” opportunities afforded by this position are for you. Simulation systems play a critical role in preparing the Canadian military for domestic and international operations. The candidate who is especially personable, understands the myriad of issues related to software development, testing and support is encouraged to apply for this challenging position.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop and support the Company’s suite of applications and systems
• Develop new client – facing features
• Write reusable code and libraries for future use
• Follow best practices in development
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Organize code into logical and maintainable units
• Independently research potential development solutions
• Manage software systems in an efficient manner by automating operations
• Collaborate in a team environment

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with the following:

Mandatory

• Experience integrating systems through defined standards: SISO, IEEE, US Military Standards, NATO/MIP Standards
• Full Mastery of Java programming language (Java 8 and above)
• Proven record of delivering full software life cycle to production
• Experience working in an iterative or continuous delivery/development environment (Agile, SAFe, etc.)
• Knowledge of full stack development
• Adept at working on multiple projects
• Strong oral/written communication skills

Desirable

• Experience with JIRA
• Experience with Git
• Experience with testing framework Cucumber
• Simulation experience
• Knowledge of Angular web framework
• Military software systems experience
• Strong mathematics skills
• Must have be eligible for Secret Clearance

Work Remotely

• Temporarily due to COVID-19

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $90,000.00-$135,000.00 per year
