emovis Technologies Quebec, part of Abertis Group is situated in Montreal. It is a leading Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Electronic Tolling System (ETS) integrator, managing several Free Flow System Tolling projects including the A25 Bridge in Laval, Quebec and the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority in Rhode Island, USA.

The Network and Systems Administrator will be required to maintain and support the project network and systems infrastructure and offer level 2 and 3 support to level 1 personnel and to the customer in line with the tolling services provided within agreed SLA.

This will require the investigation and rectification of all roadside and backoffice network and systems incidents and problems on the customer’s supported systems. Based in Anjou the work pattern is between Monday and Friday 08:30 – 17:00. Occasional overtime may be requested, as needed.

Acts as escalation point for Level 1 network and systems administrator for all corrective and preventative maintenance

Effectively monitor business critical services and applications, identifying improvements including corrective and preventative maintenance interventions

Provide technical and functional support to the business for all network and systems infrastructure issues, implementing the appropriate agreed solution

Troubleshoots and builds plans for changes to software/hardware/infrastructure including 3rd party components

Prepare and produce system documentation in accordance with policies and procedures e.g. SOPS and design documents

Review and assist with the implementation and creation of deployment design

Mentor Level 1 Network and Systems Administrator with new installations & configurations, testing accordingly

Maintain up to date awareness of developments in networking and systems technologies and identify how appropriate ones can be applied to customer organisations

Education/ Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent

At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

Languages Proficient in French and English

Knowledge of the following systems/software

Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, AD, DNS, DHCP, IIS

Windows Scripting/PowerShell, Windows GPO, DFS

Microsoft Exchange Server

SolarWinds Orion/SolarWinds Web Helpdesk

OpsGenie o Hyper-V, VMWare

Backup Exec/Microsoft SQL Server/Kaspersky Anti-Virus

Wireshark, sniffer

Knowledge of the following network equipment:

Firewalls: Sonicwall, Cisco

Switch: Dell, Cisco, HP, Lantech industrial

Knowledge of the following hardware:

Dell Poweredge servers/Dell SAN, NAS o Synology NAS

Excellent analytical skills, Expert knowledge of network configuration and diagnosis, Expert knowledge of installation/maintenance of Windows systems.

Creation and implementation of workplace method statements, acts as mentor to Level 1 Network and Systems Administrator

Day to day project management of network and systems installations and projects.

Ability to develop technical documentation for the non-technical user.

Ability to highlight and manage service risks and own remedial service improvement actions

Ability to prioritise project work effectively

Desired Experience/Skills:

• CCNA, CCNP, MCSE certification

Authorised to work in Canada on a permanent basis.
