Job Description:
RVH has the largest surgical program in the North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network (NSM LHIN) with 65% of surgeons and approximately 80,000 surgical cases annually.
As the Resource Nurse your role will coordinate the daily direct care delivery activities of staff and ensures compliance with Health Centre and Unit standards, policies and procedures.
As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:
- Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Baccalaureate preparation in a health-related field preferred
- Resource Nurse, Team Leader, or Charge Nurse experience
- Leadership, teaching and/or mentorship experience
- Current Basic Life Saving
- Current ACLS
- Coronary care level 1 or equivalent
- Advanced wound care and ostomy management preferred.
- Spinal /epidural experience essential
- Total Parental Nutrition experience essential
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in surgical step down, Intensive care or PACU experience essential
- Successful completion of a recognized Leadership Diploma/Certificate or equivalent preferred
- Progressive clinical experience
- Computer literacy in current software applications
- Greater than 12 months in-patient surgical experience
