Job Description:


A valuable member of the ambulatory surgical clinics, this position is responsible for reception, communication, appointment scheduling (manually & electronically), chart flow, maintenance of Physician Call Schedules, building of Community Wide Scheduling resource schedules and will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the clinic needs are met.

Job Qualifications:

  • Works in accordance to the organizational philosophy, polices and standards of Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre
  • Commitment to customer service skills; communicates well, interacts with diplomacy toward patients, families, external agencies and staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a professional team
  • Utilizes telephone etiquette
  • Accurately receives and relays information in a timely manner to the appropriate person/departments
  • Utilizes and shares acquired knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment
  • Proficiency in the completion of tasks associated to daily clinic routine and processes, ability to prioritize and function effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability

  • Medical Office Administration certificate or equivalent program required

Computer Competency

  • Proficiency to work in a computerized environment
  • Meditech – ADM
  • Meditech – Order Entry/PCS/Service Portal/Maintenance
  • Meditech – Community Wide Scheduling
  • Meditech – EMR
  • Microsoft Office

Other

  • Maintains departmental statistical data as requested
  • Order/maintain departmental supplies – stationary, charts, etc
  • Processing of Physician orders
  • Proven work place excellence through commitment to strong job performance and attendance
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong ability to multi task
  • Experience improving the data quality, sharing of processes, and accuracy of information gathered to move forward
  • Must be available to work at off site locations when required
