Part-Time Showroom Associate

Night & Day Window Decor is a leading independent retailer of custom window treatments, in the Greater Toronto Area, highly rated by both consumers and the interior design industry. We're seeking an energetic and friendly fast learner to join our team on a part-time permanent basis for any of our North York, Mount Pleasant or Kingston Road locations, with an opportunity to advance into an in-home sales professional position. This is a great opportunity for a current or accomplished post-secondary student in a design/management related field, or a decorator looking for additional income.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists Showroom Manager in all aspects including tracking and maintaining customer leads
• Greet and engage showroom customers by showcasing the latest products and styles
• Provide quotes and complete sales transactions
• Receive and track products and packages (ability to lift long boxes of blinds up to 30lbs necessary, but not a daily task)
• Ensure showroom is orderly, styled and well presented

Requirements:

• Availability to work 14+ hours/week including Saturdays
• Detail-oriented, personable, coachable, and energetic with strong communication, organizational, administrative and computer skills
• Fast learner with a strong work ethic and the ability to absorb new information and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while employing a polished and professional approach
• Comfortable with the challenges of a service-oriented industry
• Post-secondary education or current student in a design/management related field preferred
• Interior decorating experience or custom window treatment sales experience is preferred but not required

Compensation:

• $16.55/hour to start
• $17.55 after 6-month probationary period
• $18.00 after 1 year
• Additional 1% and 5% commission on individual sales

This is a permanent position – NOT solely a summer position.
