Alpha Healthcare is looking for Medical Laboratory Assistants to join our team in STRATFORD.
Job Type:
Part-time / Full time
Key Responsibilities:
 Verify completeness and accuracy of OHIP documentation and associated paperwork
 Enter all data from laboratory requisitions into the Laboratory Information System
 Collect quality blood samples and other specimens from patients using skilful
venipuncture techniques
 Ensure all samples are properly identified, labelled, processed and prepared for
transportation in accordance with laboratory protocols
 Perform ECGs and Holter hookups
 Handle stat, verbal and special instructions as required in a timely manner
 Create an ideal patient experience and maintain quality metrics.
 Ensure confidential information is protected in a secure manner at all times.
Requirements:
 Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent, with
specialized training in phlebotomy
 OSMT certification
 Demonstrated skills in phlebotomy with the ability to manage anxious patients during the
sample collection process.
 Proficiency in English both written and verbal at a level that enables clear
communication of instructions to patients.
 Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills
 Intermediate level computer skills and demonstrated ability to data enter information
accurately and efficiently
 Ability to work independently, prioritize, self-manage and multi-task
 Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative team player
 Meticulous attention to detail
 Commitment to quality and excellence in patient care
