Summary

As our Manager, Channel Communications, you will be at the forefront of communicating change on a daily basis, and supporting a team of Channel Communication Specialists. You will be responsible for:


  • Writing communications for frontline employees that are easy to read, understand and use.
  • Understanding the detail of each request and figure out the best way to communicate them to readers.
  • Understanding the tools used to communicate to the frontline and how to make them better.
  • Managing communication projects to make sure content and systems deliverables are completed on time.
  • Coaching a group of Channel Communication Specialists, providing support with daily tasks and projects.


This role is pivotal in making sure the right information gets to the employees selling our products and services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and complete communication requests, including same-day urgent requests
  • Look at requests and understand what needs to be communicated, to who, and where it should live on the website
  • Ask questions to fully understand a request and properly manage and apply information given by stakeholders to write content
  • Collaborate with the team editor and content strategist to refine your content to ensure the key messages come through
  • Write explanatory and procedural content for multiple audiences
  • Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts from different teams to get sign-off and approvals for all content
  • Understand and work to improve the tools, delivery methods, and format of the communications sent to the frontline to drive timely and effective communication.
  • Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders and support them in improving their content
  • Gather and use feedback from the end-users to improve existing content, tools and processes
  • Provide guidance and support to Channel Communication Specialists to enable them completing their assigned tasks and work cross functionally with stakeholders
  • Work closely with other Managers on the team and Senior Manager to assess and plan communication and internal process improvement projects

Critical Qualifications

  • Post secondary degree in Technical Writing or an equivalent field
  • 4-6 years of relevant working experience is an asset, with experience leading team members
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills along with solid attention to detail
  • A can-do attitude and the ability to work well under pressure
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to think critically and outside of the box
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings


Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
