The agency oversees services in Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough, running with an approximate annual budget of over $20 million. Our staff complement currently sits at approximately 400 dedicated employees. An opportunity has arisen in our Agency for an individual to join our Administrative Team in the role of:

Maintenance Assistant – Permanent

(37.5 Hours/Week)

Starting Annual Salary is $50,388.00 ($25.84 hourly)

Regular travel to multiple sites within Lindsay, Peterborough, and Haliburton

Valid Driver’s license, Reliable Vehicle and clear Driver’s Abstract required.

Reporting to the Manager of Property and Systems and working in collaboration with the Property and Vehicle Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for maintenance and repairs for all Agency buildings (including homes, offices, and related locations) in all three (3) communities, including but not limited to:

  • · Perform maintenance and repairs.
  • · Site inspections to identify repairs as needed.
  • · Completes Preventative Maintenance for buildings and equipment.
  • · Plumbing and minor electrical: Toilets, faucets, fix leaks, outlets, switches, fixtures.
  • · Facility repairs: doors, lock sets, broken tiles, painting, drywall repairs, window screens, furniture repairs.
  • · Property Maintenance: Mulching, seeding, planting trees.
  • · Troubleshoot appliance issues.
  • · Facility Installations: laminate flooring, doors, windows, trim, sinks, faucets etc.
  • · Respond to requests from property and vehicle administrator, leadership and administration team as needed.
  • · Assist trades.
  • · Move items within a home, office relocations.
  • · Ability to deal with confidentiality.
  • Work in compliance with the MCCSS requirements, OHSA and applicable provincial Codes
  • Participate in Agency education and training as required.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum 3 years’ experience in the field of repairs & maintenance
  • A minimum education of high school required and a post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
  • Adhere to CLTH’s Covid-19 Vaccination Policy
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean drivers abstract & use of a reliable Personal Vehicle.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Experience in working with not-for-profit Agencies is an asset.
  • Computer Skills: Excel, MS office, Outlook and work order software is an asset.
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Red Seal Trade Certification and AT Heights training is an asset.
