This will include an integrated platform for relationship and people management, learning, intranet and data warehouse. In order to achieve all this, we are now recruiting for a Lead Data Modeler.

About the Position

The Lead Data Modeler’s primary purpose is to lead the development and deployment of enterprise data models and provide oversight for all other data models in all IT applications The Lead Data Modeler will drive standards and nomenclature across the enterprise, establish appropriate procedures for model management and support the Taxonomy and Ontology for Data Catalogues.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up standards, nomenclature and related documents for all types of data models (such as Entity-Relationship models, Dimensional Models, Star-Schema, Object Models)
  • Supporting the implementation of all data models addressing all the data needs for the organization.
  • Navigating across business as a data steward who will participate in all data solution implementations, assisting any ongoing initiatives requiring data management and reporting.
  • Working with the architecture team to address to follow defined data standards for all initiatives.
  • Assisting any on-going or future projects with data architecture solutions
  • Prime on all types of Data Models for the Enterprise Data Warehouse
  • Leading effort in building of the enterprise data warehouse or data lake using modern data storage technologies and methodologies
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures.
  • Document and communicate exceptions to modelling standards
  • Keep abreast of development in data architecture trends and solutions
  • Contribute to meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, within budget, and adhering to relevant standards
  • Interface with business and technical personnel in order to understand and integrate business needs from various business units, interpret those into technical design within the logical and physical data model
  • Manage model versioning and publish model management standards and practices for all types of data models including conceptual, logical and physical data models
  • Ensure that any change in a production environment is reverse engineered into the physical data model for that environment

What You Bring

  • A university degree in computer science or an MBA in Analytics or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Data Modelling platforms required, certifications are an asset.
  • Knowledge and work experience with Industry Data Models
  • 10+ years of experience in a formal data modelling role in a complex organization
  • 7+ years of experience working with BI/Analytics platforms including: working with data management solutions, master data management, data quality, data stewardship, and data warehousing
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, reporting and analytics.
  • Previous participation in data management for transformation initiatives
  • Expert knowledge of workload optimization, query performance and data engineering best practices and methods
  • Extensive experience working with data warehouses, data lakes, business intelligence and data analytics
