About the role:

ChargeLab is hiring a Junior Software Developer to build the infrastructure that supports our systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning testing for our products, executing testing on our systems, and developing the code to automate testing activities. The Junior Software Developer’s excellent analytical skills will allow them to identify improvements in our software and requirements for software test tooling.

Junior Developer responsibilities:

• Communicate across teams to solidify requirements and designs
• Build test plans to support both acceptance-level and system-level testing
• Develop code to automate the execution of testing tasks
• Support the deployment of releases
• Perform acceptance and system testing activities

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of software development experience coding in Java
• Experience with data structures and algorithms
• Experience with software testing
• Experience with API design and testing
• Experience developing in Linux
• Able to use version control software (ex. Git)
• Experience with Jira/Confluence
• Ability to perform in person testing at our Etobicoke test lab
• Bonus: Experience with test automation, using test automation frameworks/tools, especially in a startup environment
