POSITION: Junior Accountant LOCATION: Hensall

Hensall Global is a leading provider of multimodal transportation and logistics services worldwide. We are currently recruiting for the position of Junior Accountant. This individual is responsible for general accounting functions and financial reporting systems. This is a full-time position working out of the Hensall location.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor customer receivables and follow up as required with past due invoices and escalate collection issues to commercial team and controller as necessary
• Reconcile customer accounts as needed
• Preparation and posting of month end journal entries and accruals
• Completion of various daily/weekly/monthly tasks as assigned (general accounting, inventory reconciliations, bank reconciliations, etc.)
• Provide accounts payable coverage as needed and prepare weekly payments
• Reconcile foreign currency wire transfers to vendors
• Create various reports in Excel, Sage Intacct and other programs as required
• Prepare information for reporting to various government bodies
• Support the annual budget process
• Assist with obtaining documents for the yearly audit

Job Requirements:

• Detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work well with minimal supervision
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Prior experience with Sage Intacct would be considered an asset

Qualifications:

• Completion of post-secondary education in finance or accounting
• 1-3 years experience in a similar role
• CPA designation or working towards would be considered an asset
