Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Intermediate Accountant is tasked for analyzing and reporting accounts receivable and revenue transactions as well as preparing account reconciliations and journal entries. In addition, this role is supporting the Senior Accountant on year-end audit and other tasks.

The successful candidate will bring strong communication and technical skills to the role, serving as an effective member of the Finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare month end journal entries and working papers
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to the general ledger
  • Monitor and review provision accounts
  • Prepare monthly reports and perform related analysis
  • Prepare reports as requested for decision making purposes
  • Assist team members as needed
  • Upload point of sale information to accounting system daily
  • Perform other related duties

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in business, commerce, accounting or related discipline
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including prior experience in use of pivot tables, advanced formulas, filtering and organizing large volume of data
  • Preferably enrolled in the CPA program and near completion
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team contributing to a positive and progressive work environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines during peak periods
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset
