Job description
Paton is seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team, based at our Sarnia location, and provide engineering design, testing, and project delivery services to our customers in the process industry.
Responsibilities:
- Specification of all components of the control system (SIS, PLC, Machine Protection, etc.) based on industry and customer standards
- Development and execution of all related testing and commissioning responsibilities (FAT, SAT, etc.)
- Establish control philosophies and network architecture
- Develop PLC applications and graphics
- Interface effectively within both Paton and customer project teams
Requirements:
· Knowledge of control systems and field instrumentation in an industrial environment
· Experience in the Petro-Chemical/Refining Industry
· Experience working with control system design, testing, commissioning, and maintenance
· Hands on experience with the configuration and programming of PLC systems (ControlLogix, PlantPAx, Modicon, etc.)
· Hands-on experience with the configuration and programming of safety instrumented systems (Triconex, Hima, Honeywell Safety Manager, etc.)
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Candidate should be able to travel and work at customer sites when needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technologist
- 5+ years of experience in a related role
- Able to legally work in Canada
- TUV FSEng Certification would be considered an asset

Salary: $72,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
