Qualifications:

• BC License to Practice as an Infant & Toddler Educator
• High school diploma/GED
• Must be 19 years of age (as per Provincial licensing standards)
• Completion of a negative Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Search
• Valid First Aid Certification with a CPR Level B or C
• Caring and compassionate attitude is a must
• Fluent in English; very good communication skills
• Reliable form of transportation to and from work
• Provide 3 reference, all must be professional in nature

Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with families, co-workers and community service providers working with children
• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toileting habits
• Establish guidelines for behaviour and foster independence
• Lead activities by implementing curriculum and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
• Support development of fine and gross motor skills.
• Maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children

• Competitive Wages. Starting Wage: $24.00 + $4.00 Government Wage Subsidy =$28.00/hour

• Start your RA Certification (Responsible Adult) training online – 20 hours of online learning

• Orientation and training begin
• Register with Pacific Rim ECE School online – Building Blocks will finance application fee
• Enroll in Child Guidance course – Building Blocks will finance enrollment & course fees
• Complete course online after work, while still working and earning money Full Time
• Apply for and receive BC ECEA License to Practice – receive your first wage increase
• Continue online schooling towards your ECE – while working Full Time
• Apply for and receive BC ECE License to Practice – receive your second wage increase
• Continue online schooling towards your ITE – while working Full Time
• Apply for and receive your BC ITE License to Practice – receive your third wage increase

Each level of License to Practice (ECEA, ECE, ITE) comes with the ability to apply for more senior positions at Building Blocks Educare Childcare Ltd. ECE and ITE License to Practice includes the bonus of the $4.00/hour wage enhancement!
