We are looking for a seasoned collision repair estimator to join our team as a Automotive Image Desk Appraiser in our claims department.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Unit Manager, this position will review and evaluate electronic repair estimates through our departmental standards and guidelines.

  • Create, review, and/or revise automobile damage estimates submitted digitally by repair shops.
  • Negotiate repair costs with repairers based on OEM repair procedures and industry best practices.
  • Conduct ongoing audits on estimates to ensure vendors are following company guidelines and standards.
  • Control the method and cost of repairs to motor vehicles by using established industry regulatory practices and corporate guidelines.
  • Complete total loss evaluations through market and Mitchell vehicle valuation tools.
  • Work with vendors and claims adjusters to ensure efficiency, timeliness, and quality of the repair process.
  • Facilitate re-inspection program with Field Appraisers.
  • Recommend quality repair facilities and advise on repair facilities that do not meet our quality standards.
  • Responsible for the negotiation and settlement of towing and storage expenses with vendors and service providers.
  • Advise on salvage branding and auction reserve prices through Impact Auto Auctions.

What you Bring to the Table

  • Experience: You have a robust work history in the collision repair industry, and you know the right way to do thigs. You have submitted estimates to a variety of insurers and know what is expected. Familiarity with industry standard estimating systems.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 3-4 years of auto collision repair industry experience (insurance experience an asset, not required).
  • Experience working in an accredited auto collision repair shop in British Columbia.
  • Familiarity with British Columbia auto insurance providers and repair norms.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting to mentor and share knowledge and provide guidance.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Experience and fluidity working with Mitchell repair estimating products.

Location: Hybrid (Remote / part-time in Vancouver office)
