Reporting to Director, Payroll, HRIS & Benefits, as a HRIS Specialist, you will play a key role, partnering with internal departments, ensuring the system works efficiently from an end-user perspective, accurately reflecting business requirements, and meets our current and future business needs.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Analyze current configuration of HRIS modules, including Time & Attendance, to ensure best practices and continuous process improvements
  • Work with internal stakeholders as needed, assisting in testing business processes, system changes, upgrades, patches, new interfaces, file feeds, etc., documenting processes and results
  • Maintain system master data structure, including organization levels and locations
  • Maintain HRIS security and ensure appropriate accesses while safeguarding system security and data privacy
  • Support mergers and acquisitions as required
  • Develop, document, and maintain HRIS processes and procedures and create user job aids
  • Identify knowledge gaps and provide appropriate training to our users and Leaders
  • Develop training and conduct sessions on new processes and functionality
  • Facilitate annual performance review and compensation cycles
  • Automate administrative tasks through the HRIS reducing manual forms
  • Ensure the system can scale for organizational growth
  • Provide technical support of system issues and concerns, including troubleshooting, working with vendors and clients to resolve issues
  • Provide creative solutions to enhance end user experiences, building efficiencies, and improving processes for internal teams

As The Successful Candidate, You Have:

  • A minimum of 3 years Human Resource Information experience
  • Sound knowledge of HRIS (UKG preferred)
  • Worked in a Multi-province/state environment in Canada and the US
  • Fluency in French is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of the job
  • Superior computer skills, in particular Excel and reporting tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation (Employment Standards, WCB, Privacy Act, etc) and common law practices
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex payroll rules and policies
  • Highly organized, with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements
  • Ability to develop effective relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as the need arises to meet deadlines
  • Completion of the Canadian Payroll Association Certification Program and designation (PCP/CPM) would be an asset
