WANTED: ADULT FEMALE CAREGIVER IN CLIENTS HOME

WANTED: A nonsmoking, mature, responsible woman to care for a quiet, gentle Special Needs young woman. Expectation is to make her your top priority, engaging her in activities - crafts, games, music. Must be punctual, flexible, reliable and have a upbeat, positive personality. This position is for a temporary maternity leave.

Terms of Employment:

Shifts: flexible- can work up to ~44hrs / week..days/evenings..(0800 - 2030hrs)

must be punctual and reliable

Salary: $19.58/hr

Start Date: as soon as possible(January 3, 2023)

Location: NW Calgary ( Ranchlands) in clients home

Language: must be fluent in written and spoken English

Education: High School Completion, College/Diploma /HCA

Credentials: Must have First Aid, current CPR and/or Adult Care Certificate

Experience:

Must be comfortable working with special needs young adults. Must be familiar with clients that have epilepsy and know what to do in times of seizure activity. Also must be patient to work with client that has developmental delays who struggles with basic life skills.

Specific skills: Must be able to supervise and care for my daughter at all times. To assist her in dressing, hygiene - activities of daily living. You must be creative and engage her in activities - crafts, games and music. Must be able to prepare light meals and do light housekeeping duties. Must be able to provide and maintain a safe environment when going on outdoor activities, as well as assisting her to and from community activities (library, bowling etc) Must keep a daily record of activities, and health information regarding my daughter. Dedication and commitment to her wellbeing is imperative.

Safety: We require a current Criminal Records Check along with a Vulnerable Person’s Check upon selection (within the last 3 months).

Transportation: must own your own vehicle and have it in proper working order. Must have appropriate vehicle insurance coverage as well as a valid class 5 Driver’s License. Insurance coverage must include any extra insurance relating to work related passengers. City Transit comes within a block of our house.

Resume: must include 3 references and cover letter

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Salary: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
