Heating Service Technician Job at Irving Oil
What you can expect in a typical day:
This role is responsible for the day-to-day servicing of our customers through troubleshooting and performing diagnostic activities in regards to service equipment within established policies and procedures.

Your roles and responsibilities:
- Diagnose system problems by completing steps required during inspection, including checking gas flow, thermostats, heat flow, and insulation etc.
- Fix problems that occur by reviewing diagnostics and using the proper tools to complete repairs
- Provide final inspections of systems once repairs are completed to ensure all equipment is operating safely
- Foster good customer relations by explaining to customers what service work was performed
- Complete appropriate daily paper work for each service call
- Maintain daily and yearly inventory
- Ensure that service truck is in good working order and reliable
- Perform other duties as required to maintain and enhance departmental productivity
Professional skills:
- Licensed Oil Burner Heating Technician
- Dual license (Oil and Gas) an asset.
- Knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and some air conditioning is required
- Ability to work well with others
- Good organization and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong decision making skills
- Safety focused required
Education and experience:
- Licensed Oil Burner Heating Technician
- Dual license (Oil and Gas) an asset.
