Taboo Muskoka is hiring a Group Sales Coordinator! Does selling, negotiating and closing sales run in your blood? We’re looking for a well organized, strong communicator to join the Sales team full time, year round. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Group Sales Coordinator is accountable for the soliciting group business and achieving (and even better, overachieving!) room night and revenue goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for effectively soliciting and expediting all accounts in the market segments to positively impact resort revenues.
  • To solicit group business that enables the hotel to meet and/or exceed revenue goals in rooms, catering and miscellaneous meeting requirements. This will consist of telephone solicitations, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication.
  • Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance.
  • Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.
  • Attend trade shows and industry meetings. (Chamber Events, MPI and Tradeshows)
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
  • Assist and complete reports, and/or data collection. (90-day Action plan and Weekly Sales Activity)
  • Must be able to travel (GTA) to visit potential clients, expanding our presence in these markets and regions.
  • To assist in the preparation of the annual Sales and Marketing plan, including competitive analysis and national, regional and local sales strategies and sales activities for each market sector.
  • Attend weekly Sales Meetings (in person or by phone)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills)
  • 3+ years’ experience in Sales in a comparable Resort/Hotel Property
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Hospitality Degree or Diploma an asset
  • Valid G driver’s license and own transportation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passionate about sales
  • Strong organization skills
  • Dynamic, energetic, creative and positive presence and problem solver
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all team members
