While aircraft are the most visible machines that an airline owns, just as critical to day-to-day operations is an airline’s ground equipment – and those responsible for maintaining them. We’re seeking a talented GSE Mechanic to assist with the ongoing maintenance of everything from portable stairs to fuel and food trucks, tow tractors, aircraft tugs, GPUs and vehicles. Roll up your sleeves and work on everything from standard maintenance to troubleshooting unexpected issues, as well as ongoing projects. No two days will be alike!

Job Requirements/Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintaining ground support equipment, vehicles and facilities on a scheduled and as-needed basis
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is scheduled and conducted for all properties
  • Provide trouble-shooting and diagnostic assessment of equipment, vehicles and facilities
  • Maintain records of repairs, inventory and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain tools, shop and equipment in safe and operational working condition
  • Keep work areas clean and free from hazards

Would you describe yourself as having:

  • Knowledge of drive-trains, diesel and gasoline engines, propane fuel, complex electrical and hydraulic systems, and metal fabrication and welding
  • The ability to understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and proficiency with computers and diagnostic tools
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and flexibility with shift scheduling
  • Ability to work well independently and as a team with minimal supervision

Qualifications/Conditions of Employment:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience relevant GSE mechanical experience or equivalent educationRed Seal Certification (or in progress with Journeyman status) an asset (Heavy Duty or Automotive Mechanic)
  • Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) from Transport Canada.
  • Valid driver's license & the ability to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP).
  • Demonstrated ability to properly use tools, diagnostic equipment, maintain and repair equipment
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or show proof of right to work in Canada
