The Security Guard Team Member is responsible for all aspects of perimeter security including access & egress of persons and vehicles on site throughout the duration of their shift. This is an excellent position for aspiring police and law enforcement officers. Securitas is a global leader with security operations in 58 countries and over 370,000 employees globally.

We are currently seeking experienced security guards for full time permanent positions in Cambridge, ON. Candidates will need to be able to work days and night shifts on a rotational schedule. Candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of security experience. Candidates must be comfortable with radio communication and be familiar with or willing to learn 10 CODES. Pay Rate: $18.98/hr

Shift details: 12hr shifts rotational 0800-2000 and 2000-0800hrs

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Class G Driver’s License.
• Valid Ontario Security License.
• Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR Certificate.
• Minimum Grade 12 or GED equivalent.
• Candidates with hospital security experience is a strong asset.
• Law & Security, Police Foundations, or equivalent post-secondary diploma preferred.
• Must be double vaccinated.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Complete daily inspection/maintenance of security patrol vehicles and reporting all deficiencies.
• Conduct Mobile Patrols of all premises including but not limited to: internal roads, external buildings and parking lots.
• Complete accurate and concise incident reports as required.
• Have a full understanding of all site Emergency Response Standard Operating Procedures [ERSOPs] and respond to emergencies as required, providing escorts for responding emergency vehicles.
• Perform traffic duty as required and directed by the S/AM.
• Maintain operational knowledge of site exterior layout including dock doors and emergency exits.
• Operational knowledge of all vehicle gate duties including issuing delivery/contractor vehicle passes, logging commercial vehicle entry/exits and searching of vehicles.
• Ensure all paperwork presented for vehicle carriers/material release and laptop inspections are filled out correctly in accordance with site policies.
• Operational knowledge of all reception duties including Issuance of visitor, contractor and T/M badges as required and in accordance with site policies and procedures.
• Conduct random laptop and bag checks as directed by S/AM.
• To cover all S/TM Posts (Reception, Gate 1, Gate 2, Gate 3 and Mobile) as required and directed by the S/AM.
• Comply with all Post Orders, Standard Operating procedures [SOPs], ERSOPs and Site policies.
• Complete all training, projects, additional duties and functions as directed by Securitas Management or Client representative.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous security experience preferred.
• Ability to respond to situations with tact and diplomacy and remain calm in stressful situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods as required.
• Intermediate level use Microsoft Applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask required.
• Previous experience using Lenel software considered an asset.
