POSITION: Registered Nurse

UNIT: Multi-Unit, Inpatient and Emergency Department, Home Base Inpatient

STATUS: Full-Time Un-mastered Continental Line

START DATE: March 6, 2023

SALARY: As per ONA Salary Scale

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with

patients, physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to

patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) 
Diploma/Degree from a recognized College/University, BScN preferred 
BCLS, ACLS and NRP Certification 
PALS/ENCP Certification 
Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias Certification, Defibrillator Certification 
15 Lead ECG Interpretation Certification 
TNCC / ATLS, CTAS Course 
Palliative Care Education and Critical Care Course preferred 
CAN Gerontology, Med/Surg and / or Cardiovascular Certification preferred 
Demonstrated appropriate management of delirium in the acute care / post-acute care setting preferred 
Two years related nursing experience working in acute care setting preferred 
Working knowledge of Cerner software computer applications information system and related peripheral

hardware preferred

POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES AND TASKS: 

Ability to organize, problem solve, critical thinking and decision making. 
Demonstrated application of role in Code situation (ex. Code Blue). 
Communicates with patients, families, physicians, staff and community partners. 
Observing and recording patient behavior. Evaluates patient outcomes. 
Competent operation of medical equipment. 
Performing diagnostic tests within scope of practice 
Safely Administering medications and treatments.

HOURS OF WORK: Ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays
