Production and Field Service Technician

Specializing in non-intrusive ultrasonic flow measurement and nuclear plant performance analysis, Advanced Measurement & Analysis Group Inc. (AMAG) has helped nuclear power plants around the world for over 25 years increase production, improve instrumentation accuracy, reduce uncertainty, and improve safety compliance.

As we build internal capability to support our growth, we are looking to hire a team-oriented, highly organized, customer focused Field Service Technician to install and support our products and systems located in Ontario and around the globe.

Reporting to the Production /Engineering Manager, and working with AMAG and customer plant staff the Production and Field Service Technician will take the lead on field installations, maintenance and repair of our products and systems. This role will also involve work with AMAG team back at AMAG’s facility in Oakville.to perform specialised assembly work, production testing, and assist in general production activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to client and calibration sites in Canada, the USA, South America, Europe and Southeast Asia to install, commission, troubleshoot, repair and conduct maintenance on our products, and systems
  • Lead field service teams and interact with AMAG project managers, specialists, and customer plant and operational staff
  • Test production equipment against test plans, and document results
  • Assemble PC’s, installing operating systems and production software
  • Assemble ultrasonic transducer assemblies, cable sets and harnesses, electronic assemblies and boards
  • Support engineering and R&D projects including preparing, maintaining and operating lab equipment
  • Repair customer returns, prepare repair plans and quality documentation
  • Support production activities as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary diploma/certificate in electronics or equivalent
  • 5 years in ISO 9004 electronic manufacturing or similar
  • Experience interacting directly with customers
  • Proficient in MS Office, and project planning software
  • Able to assemble, configure, test, troubleshoot and repair windows-based PCs with support from IT staff
  • Proficient in C, LabView or similar high level programming language sufficient to troubleshoot and be able to make minor changes
  • Able to assemble, test, and troubleshoot data acquisition systems
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously in the field
  • Able to work independently within a collaborative team environment
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent customer relations service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others
  • Superior communication abilities, both verbal & written
  • Flexible, adaptable and resilient
  • Valid driver’s licenses
  • Valid passport and able to travel internationally with limited notice
  • Canadian citizen with ability to obtain security clearance for travel to sensitive locations
  • Travel up to 50% is required

At this time employees are working a hybrid work schedule and may be required to return to the office full time.
