We are a busy, Pet care Company located in Erin, Ontario, looking for an experienced, qualified pet care specialist.

Our services include dog walking, pet sitting, dog daycare, dog training and a retail store, which specializes in natural health and raw food diets.

If you have experience in the pet industry, have worked with dogs professionally or are a recent graduate of a vet assistant, animal care or dog training program and are looking for a great career with a great company, this is the place for you!

The successful candidate will be ok with working a rotating schedule, and be able to be flexible with their hours. We operate 7 days a week, 7am to 8pm, the position does require some weekend availability.

The successful candidate will have the following qualities:

• Have a passion for pets, always ensuring their wellbeing comes first
• Be able to be pro-active and manage a pack of dogs effectively
• Remain calm under pressure and have the ability to react quickly
• Understand canine body language, be able to predict canine behaviors
• Be friendly and outgoing, always
• Be a team player and work well with others,
• Have superior customer service skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform the physical duties of the job

Responsibilities include:

• Supervise the dogs in the daycare, ensuring they are all safe and have a great time
• Dog Walking - Walk dogs as needed, clean up after them
• in Home dog walking & pet sitting - drive to local customer homes at specified times to feed pets and walk dogs as required
• Administer medication as required
• Perform pet first aid if required
• Maintain a clean and healthy daycare and retail environment
• Assist customers in the retail store, answer phone calls, educate pet owners on natural foods, products and services
• Book appointments
• Introduce new dogs to the daycare environment
• Follow all company policy's and procedures

Relevant experience and education

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Vet assistant, Vet tech, Animal care or dog training diploma, certificate or equivalent is required. Will consider professional pet care individuals with no certification as long as they have experience working in a similar environment.
• 4 + yrs experience handling dogs of all size, including handling dogs with behavior issues
• experience in training dogs an asset
• Valid & current drivers license, must have access to a vehicle, this position does require driving to local customer homes for pet sitting and dog walking.
