Qualifications / Skills and Education:
About You
  • You can provide at least 3-4 days of availability per week
  • You have a Food Safe Certificate Level 1, and it's up-to-date.
  • Grade 10 plus one year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Duties and Responsibilities:
What You Will Do

As a Dietary Aide, you will have the chance to be a part of a team that promotes a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors, and staff. This an extraordinary chance for you to work in healthcare.

You will report directly to the Food Services Manager, and your responsibilities will include:
    • Setting up the serving line for meal service including condiments, utensils, portioned desserts, salad bar, coffee and juice.
    • Taking orders and serving patients and customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
    • Operating a cash register and optical price scanners. Receiving cash, debit and credit card payments.
    • Preparing beverages and food items such as tea, coffee and toast; heating individual prepared food items in microwave as needed, assembling items such as sandwiches and salads.
    • Packaging, labeling, dating and tranfering food to the refrigerator or freezer according to food safety standards. Replenishing food, beverage and paper supplies by transferring from storage areas to work areas.
