The Opportunity

Our Brampton, ON Branch is looking for a Customer Service Rep 3 CAN! The Central Customer Service Representative 3 is responsible to proactively contact customers to schedule disposal business, and service all related manners, working under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Interacts with customers by phone or in person to provide information; ensures the best technical service possible. Answers customers' technical or scientific questions regarding product or service and operation or maintenance. Converses with customers to obtain information, identify problem, and provides technical assistance. Liaises between development, engineering, sales, distributors and customers.   • Assists supervisor/manager with the management of daily activities over a group of agents, representatives, or similar positions. Provides direction and guidance to less experienced team members. Recognizes and recommends areas needing improvement. May assist in scheduling and coordinating team activities. May provide input into hiring decisions and performance appraisals. Typically requires one to three years experience, and some experience as a senior level representative. Handles escalated and unresolved calls from less experienced representatives. Handles customer service inquiries and problems via the telephone and records consistent problem areas. Calls may be inbound or outbound. Customer service is the primary function, but may include minimal selling or promotion of products or services.
  • Resolves problems concerning residential/business service and/or billing. Has sufficient technical knowledge to ascertain cause of problem. Directs problems which cannot be handled within Customer Service to the appropriate organization department; follows up and coordinates with other departments to ensure problem is resolved. May be assigned a key account, group of accounts, or specific geographic area. May provide guidance to less experienced CSR's. Typically requires five to seven years of customer service experience in utilities. Frequently reports to a Customer Service Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in Business or Environmental Science.
  • 5 + year customer service experience. Related industry experience preferred.
  • Strong Customer Service Skills.
  • Clean Harbors business systems knowledge (pricing tables, quote systems).
  • Knowledge and ability to promote all CHES services while talking to customers.
  • Able to multi-task and is detail oriented.
  • Team oriented.
  • Proficient in Windows based applications.
