The opportunity
The primary focus of the Customer Service Officer is to be the first point of contact for all Optimum Mortgage clients and partners by telephone or email. This role is primarily focused on professionally answering all inbound phone calls, providing 1st call resolution on as many inquiries as possible, and/or directing client inquiries to the other departments as required.
We are looking for someone who can think on their feet, who like to learn new things, and can learn quickly. In our ever-changing environment, they know how to be flexible and adapt.
The day-to-day
Customer Service. Communication. Administration. Collaboration.
  • Provide a high level of customer service that consistently exceeds expectations by asking open ended discovery questions to ensure all our client’s financial needs are being met
  • Ensuring accurate processing of all Optimum Mortgage administration activities such as loan payouts, creation of payout statements, processing of renewals, payment processing, etc.
  • Act as a one touch solution for client inquiries or concerns and direct clients to the appropriate team member for further assistance when required based on standard operating procedures.
  • Manage a central email address and route email inquiries as per standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to the achievement of branch targets and goals by diligently following bank procedures and processes in an accurate, well organized, and efficient manner.
  • Inspire trust by being open, honest, and direct in communication, meeting commitments and behaving ethically in all dealings.
  • Treat all stakeholders with professionalism, dignity and respect and support an environment where people can contribute and excel.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills that contribute to working effectively in a diverse working environment.
Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from
  • Some post-secondary education, or equivalent experience.
  • One or more years of providing great customer service.
  • One or more years of administration work, preferably with some exposure to mortgage administration.
  • Solid knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
