Structural Wear Products, a leading manufacturer of high-quality steel products, is seeking a CNC Brake Press Operator to join our team in Pitt Meadows, BC. The successful candidate will have a passion for precision bending and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

The chosen candidate will be working on our newly installed 650-ton Accupress Accell. This press is state of the art, with 6-axis back gauges, hydraulic bottom die and utilizes the latest Vision software.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Set up and operate the brake press to bend and shape parts or plates to specific dimensions and angles.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and other specifications to determine the correct bend sequences, angles, and depths.
  • Ensure that the press is properly set up and calibrated, including selecting the correct tooling, adjusting the stroke length, and setting the backgauge.
  • Load and unload materials onto and from the press, using cranes, forklifts, or other equipment as necessary.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to ensure that the parts meet the required specifications.
  • Monitor the production process to ensure that parts are being produced to the required quality standards and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the press and related equipment, including performing routine maintenance, identifying and addressing mechanical issues, and coordinating repairs with maintenance staff.
  • Keep a record of production data, including the number of parts produced, their quality, and any issues encountered during production.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed, such as material handling, grinding or deburring parts, and general cleanup.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating a CNC Brake Press.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dynamic and forward-thinking individual with a positive attitude.
  • AutoCAD, or Solidworks
