As a Clinical Support Specialist your typical day will impact the following ways:

Oversees designated assessment tool or software to assess care needs to determine corresponding care fees & team staffing requirements as applicable;
Supports the Directors and Managers of Wellness (DOW/MOW) to assess the needs of individual residents and develops their personal service plans in accordance with Provincial Regulations; communicates deployment to wellness team members;
Monitors all resident incidents and directs team members regarding interventions to prevent reoccurrence as applicable;
Monitors team member compliance with policy on Monitoring Resident Well Being and ensures follow-up is completed as required.
Supports the DOW/MOW to monitor symptoms and changes in the health state of residents and prepares related reports;Assists the DOW/MOW with communicating changes in care needs to residents/families related to potential increases in care service costs;
Develops professional and collaborative relationship with hospital team members, community health care professionals to establish strong referral relationships;
Completes biannual audits of all charts/files to ensure all required documentation to meet legislative and organization standards of practice;
Conducts scheduled infection control, occupational health audits (quarterly) per region and as needed;
Supports DOW/MOW to administer their approved budget within established parameters;
Monitors and promotes care services on a fee for service basis to achieve financial targetsAssists with Provincial Regulatory Education for General Managers and Directors/Managers of Wellness

Education and Experience Required:
Current registration & in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario
Knowledge of applicable provincial regulations and standards inclusive of Memory Care requirements
First Aid and CPR Certified – Current
Minimum 3 years’ experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, memory care and/or retirement living
Minimum of 2 year management/leadership experience as a Director of Wellness
A warm personality with demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease
Comprehensive technical knowledge is required on the aging process, gerontology, and Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Training/Certification
This role is a regional support role in nature - it requires travel to our Retirement Sites in Southern ON (Milton to Windsor, ON) - successful candidate is required to have access to a reliable vehicle and a valid G license
