The Scotiabank Centre is now inviting applications for the position of Camera Operator within our Production Team.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Camera Operator is responsible for camera coverage of in-house video production for sports, concerts, meetings and conventions.

Role Description:

  • Set up and tear down of cameras and associated equipment.
  • Operate cameras for in-house video production / live events.
  • Take direction from producer/director for coverage of an event.
  • Must be avaliable during evenings and weekends.

Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Education related to Communications, Broadcast, Film, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years Broadcast TV or Film production experience is preferred.

Job Specific / Technical Knowledge

  • Broadcast camera functionality knowledge.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of sports would be considered an asset.
  • Must be able to lift and set up cameras equipment up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced "live" production environment.
  • Work in a fast paced, busy environment with environmental conditions such as noise, heights, dark/dim/absence of lighting.
