Butler Job at U.S. Ambassador's Official Residence
The incumbent is responsible for providing the full range of professional-level butler services at the U.S. Ambassador’s Official Residence in Ottawa (historic Lornado). The incumbent reports directly to the Residence Manager for daily instructions and tasks. Assists with the setup of official functions (the current Ambassador entertains frequently), including furniture placement and decorations, serves meals for the family and guests during official and unofficial functions, greets arriving guests, taking their coats and luggage, and performs other duties as required.
The incumbent must be physically fit for the position to be able to handle heavy-lifting and furniture placement duties.
The butler backs up the Office Manager in producing work orders and maintaining office equipment. Manages events in the absence of the Residence Manager or as assigned by the Residence Manager. Supports other household staff when required and/or as directed.
