Job Summary

An opportunity to apply your exceptional leadership, organizational and strategic skills

The Senior Project Manager will lead and manage a team of project managers, assistant project managers, and project technicians. The position will lead major highway improvement projects and/or components of corridor programs with multiple key deliverables. This position will provide strategic input to the program of the South Coast Region and its project management staff.

Job Requirements:

    • Degree with a minimum five (5) years of related experience OR;
    • Diploma with a minimum seven (7) years of related experience OR;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

(*Education must be in business administration, public administration, engineering, or related field)



Related experience includes one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience in supervising/leading in a professional environment, including managing the workload of other project team members, managing employee performance, coaching and mentoring, goal setting, and leading the resolution of HR/performance issues.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project.
  • Experience managing relationships with senior level stakeholders and leading consultation sessions.
  • Experience in budget management and procurement.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience with transportation infrastructure.
  • Experience managing major infrastructure projects.

One (1) position available.
This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure offices: Coquitlam, Nanaimo, Saanich, Courtenay, Victoria, Kamloops, Cranbrook, Nelson, Kelowna, Williams Lake, Prince George, Fort St. John, Smithers or Terrance.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work two (2) days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
This position is excluded from union membership.
