Nootka Marine Adventures is a leading resort operator dedicated to sustainable adventure tourism on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Our focus is to grow a new generation of passionate anglers by teaching families and youth to fish.

Position:

We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you have a passion for process and a keen eye for detail.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Good at managing your time and can prioritize work when under pressure and multitasking.
  • Technically savvy using multiple accounting software applications in conjunction with Microsoft Office.
  • Very detail oriented with strong organizational and numeracy skills.
  • Someone who loves processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Professional confidentiality is top priority.

Skills and experience required:

  • Some previous work experience or education in administration or bookkeeping.
  • Professional administrative experience in an office setting.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of QuickBooks (preferred).
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.

You will:

  • Support general office operations and working environment of Head Office.
  • Be responsible for the office supplies organization and inventory.
  • Maintain our databases and electronic filing.
  • Write and distributing email, letters, memos, and other documentation.
  • Data entry into the accounting system.
  • Update and distribute standard operating procedures as directed.
  • Greet and provide general support to office visitors.
  • Prepare agendas, attend meetings, and take detailed minutes when required.
  • Work closely with department heads at our Head Office to assist with a variety of administrative tasks.

Compensation:

This is a permanent year-round position with a competitive hourly wage of $20-25/hour.

Schedule:

  • Full-time (35 – 40 hours per week)
  • Monday to Friday
